August 3, 1934 – December 2, 2024

A beloved husband, father, grandfather/great-grandfather, and brother, Henry “Henk” Eshuis, 90, of Grimsby, Ontario passed on peacefully to be with the Lord on December 2, 2024.  Henry was born on August 3, 1934 in the Netherlands to the late Jannes & Gezina Eshuis.

Henry immigrated to Canada with his family in 1953.  It was in Essex, Ontario that he met and married his loving wife, Margaret, of 64 years.  Henry is survived by his children Sonya Bechard (Joe), Jim Eshuis (Jocelyn), Mark Eshuis (Elaine), Jamila Eshuis, his 10 grandchildren, Gabrielle, Monique (Joe), James, David, Danielle, Samantha (Mike), Reuben, Ingrid, Brandon, Diego, and great granddaughter, Skylar.   He was preceded in death by his wife, his mother and father, his step-mother, Dieka, his sister Trudy, his step-siblings Theresa and John, and his grandchildren, Bradley and Anneke.

Throughout his professional life, Henry was a spiritual leader and pastor within the faith communities of several Christian Reformed Churches in southern Ontario.  Living a life of faith and ministering to others was his mission.  To those he encountered, he was compassionate, loving, and caring and will always be remembered for his guidance and leadership.  Living a life of faith was important to him whether that be among congregation members, among his neighborhood, or when with family and friends.  Beyond living a life of service to others, he enjoyed landscape painting and working with wood, particularly in contributing to building his own homes or those of others in disaster relief areas.  He always enjoyed any time spent with family.  Sometimes this included traveling, something he especially enjoyed with Margaret in their latter years.

We are so saddened that Henry has passed on but we are confident he is happy at his home in heaven.    We will always miss his presence in our lives but he leaves us with so many beautiful memories.  We want to celebrate his life well-lived, his race well-run, and his faith well-kept.   He leaves behind a legacy of love in the hearts and lives of each one of us.

Interment will take place on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 9:30am at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, 2250 Highway 20, Fonthill, Ontario.  A funeral service celebrating his life will follow at Trinity Christian Reformed Church at 11:00am, 1230 Old Martindale Rd., St. Catharines, Ontario.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Calvin Dwayne Knapman on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at the age of 54.

Cherished father of Nadine (Mike) Quinlan. Special grandpa to Scarlett Quinlan. Calvin is survived by his mother Harriet (Brian) Fluke and sisters Denise (Jeff) and Lisa (Mark). Also survived by his nieces Carley and Mya and his nephew Gabe. He will be missed by Brandi, PJ and Lysh.

Predeceased by his father Gary Knapman, his companion of many years Gloria and his nephew Tanner.

On Monday, November 18^th, 2024. Stanley Maryan Rusin, at the age of 84 passed peacefully at the Welland Hospital. Loving brother-in-law of Lilianne and Teresa, nieces and nephews David, Randy (Amelia), Charlene (Paul), Derek (Katie), Kelly, Johnny (Sherry) and Adam (Rhonda). Predeceased by his parents Mary and Stanley, brothers Joseph and John and a nephew Steven. Stan worked on the rail roads for 48 years. In his retirement he volunteered at many local festivals and he enjoyed his breakfasts at the Grill, and loved spending time with his friends at the Legion. The family will welcome visitors at LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Rd., Fenwick on Thursday, November 21^st, 2024 from 5 – 8 p.m. Vigil prayers will be said at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Rite of committal will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Welland, ON. Passed away peacefully with family at her side, November 4, 2024 at Age Care Royal Oak at the age of 85 years. Reunited with her loving husband, Romke Talsma (2002). Dear mother of Nita (Tom) Harmon, Ron (Cindy) Talsma, Robert Talsma, Kevin Talsma, Karen (Dana) Douglas. Special grandma of Ruth Ann (Dan), Luke (Ashley), Krista (Brandon), Graham (Robyn), Jessie (Greg), Hayden (Isabelle), Tyler and Dillan; great grandma of Brock, Claire, Evelyn, Dante, Ruby, Jack, Blake, Jess and Liz. Sister of late Nita (late Maurice), Doreen (late Jerry), late Kay (late Harold), late Wesley (late Lillian), late Olga and late Larry. Remembered by brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Gladys.

Visitation will be held at Lampman Funeral Home (724 Canboro Rd, Fenwick, ON L0S 1C0) Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 12pm until the time of funeral service to begin at 1 pm.  Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery (451 Canboro Road, Ridgeville). Peacefully, on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Foyer Richelieu, Welland, ON at age 95. Loving brother of Sister Juliana, Margaret (Roy) Crest, Bill (Elizabeth), Roger (Alice) and James (Jim). Cherished uncle of Beckett (Greg) Csanig, as well as many other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Antal & Barbara, sisters & brothers Mary (Marcel) Martineau, Antol (Arden), Barbara and Rose (Bill).

Vigil prayers will be said at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 22^nd, 2024 at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, 834 Canboro Rd., Fenwick at 11:00 a.m. Rite of committal at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Wainfleet. Luncheon to be served at St. Ann’s Church, following the interment.

George “Earle” Baxter passed suddenly in his sleep at home on Tuesday Oct 15, 2024, at the age of 72. George was an avid fisherman and Godzilla enthusiast.  He worked as a Fuel truck driver in Niagara for almost 40 years. Owning and operating Pelham Fuels for a time as well. He loved classic muscle cars and fishing with his grandson Lucas. George leaves behind his wife Amanda, of almost 49 years.  His children Beau, Holly and Michael (d.1979), and his grandchildren, Lucas. Kaidence, Matthew, Merrick, Lilia and Kian. Also, his nephew Pete. George was the last living of 5 children of Sydney Baxter & Anne Loudon.

With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Shirley on Sunday, October 6^th, 2024 at the Welland Hospital in her 89^th year. Loving mother of Debbie (Terry) Mikolasek. Devoted grandmother of Greg and Kristina Stanley and Erin and Ryan Nery. Great-grandmother of Kapri, Tia and Lincoln. Shirley is survived by her sister Sharon Wright and nephews Chris and Tammy (Emma and Kaylie) and Craig and Amy (Alexis and Jordan). Shirl will be sadly missed by her long-time friends Adele Bourne and Marion Hoover. Shirl was predeceased by her devoted husband Robert (2020). Respecting Shirl’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. To quote Frank Sinatra, “I did it my way” and she sure did!! On September 19th, the Belfry family mourned the passing of their beloved Richard Belfry at the age of 65. Richard leaves behind his wife Judy (Sherwood) and their two children, Melissa and her husband Steve Sheath, grand children Lenard and Skylare Sheath and his son Marvin Belfry. He is preceded in death by his mother Ann Eva and father Marvin Belfry. Richard was a devoted family man and is survived by many loved ones, including his mother-in-law Lenora and late father-in-law Allen Sherwood, his brother Bob and wife Nancy with their five children, brother Dave and wife Liz with their three children, and late sister Janine’s husband Tony. Richard’s extended family includes Judy’s side, with siblings Gwen and Art Barefoot, Ed and Linda Sherwood, Marjory and the late Ken Lambert, Mark and Denise Sherwood, Bill and Leanne Sherwood, Ken and Jenny Sherwood, Tom and Laurie Sherwood, Matt and Lisa Sherwood, and Pat and Ron Souter, Cathy and husband Terry Swords, as well as the late Rob Sherwood. Richard’s large family was filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Well known throughout the Niagara region from his career, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
