EVELYN P. MCARTHUR

Peacefully at Royal Rose Place, Welland, on Friday, April 26, 2024 in her 106th year. Beloved wife of the late Russell McArthur. Loving mother of Donald and William (Marlene) McArthur. Cherished grandmother of Heather, Sydney (Zack), Alisha, and Donald, and Great-grandmother of Aiden and Lilith.

ROGER RONEK

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roger Ronek on Thursday April 25, 2024 at the age of 88. Loving husband of 53 years to Rose Marie Ronek. Survived by his sister in law and brother in law Marion (Clyde) Little. He will be missed by his nieces Rosanne (Mike) Mantesso, Roxanne (Rob) Souter and Rosalee (Peter) Van Helsdingen and great nieces Rachel Mantesso, Makayla Van Helsdingen and great nephew Michael Van Helsdingen. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Lillian Ronek and inlaws May and Blake Hodgkins, brothers in law Oscar Hodgkins and Frank Hodgkins.

Roger was an avid ham radio operator and he loved to travel, especially by train. He retired after an exciting career from the National Park Service in the United States of America. He loved to share his stories about his adventures, loved camping, model trains and had a great sense of humour. He will be missed greatly by many friends and family.

All will be welcomed to visit Roger’s family on Wednesday May 8, 2024 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Lampman Funeral Home, 724 Canboro Rd, Fenwick, ON. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, 4 St. Andrew’s Ave, Welland, ON on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 11am. A Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society, The Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy (OFCP) or to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Kors Pater

PATER, KORS

With heavy hearts, the family of Kors Pater announce his peaceful passing at Niagara Health-St. Catharines Site on April 26, 2024 at the age of 76 with family by his side from complications of ALS. He was born April 1, 1948 in Maarsbergen (Marne) Holland to his parents Kors and Catharina Pater, both deceased. He came to Canada as a young boy, with his parents and siblings, landing at Pier 21 In Nova Scotia. The family eventually made their way to St. Catharines-making it home.
He started his working career at Dominion Food Stores as a grocery clerk and worked for many years for. A&P/Metro as a produce /grocery clerk and eventually became an assistant store manager. He made several friends throughout those years and continued to keep in touch with many of them over the years.
Kors enjoyed Southern Gospel and country music especially The Statler Brothers and The Gaithers. He enjoyed fishing, gardening , tending to his yard and his fur babies (Tippy, Amber, Nicki and Chelsea). He was an avid hockey and baseball fan especially the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays. He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Anne and he will be dearly missed by his children Kors Jr (Heather) Pater, Lori (Ben) Vanderwerf and Jeremy Pater. 10 grandchildren-Kwynn, Aiden(Piper), Jakob, Matthew, Kayla, Abby(Auggie), Grayce, Kaden, Tyler and Zachariah. He will be missed by his sisters Klazina(Dick), Clara(Al), Elizabeth(David) as well as many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by extended family and many friends, especially his neighbours on Else Street who became like family to him. Kors and Anne attended Bethel Baptist and Calvary Church for many years. His faith sustained him throughout the years and in one of his final moments told the nursing staff “I have an appointment with the man upstairs”. He had a quick wit and a quirky sense of humour.
Family will receive friends and family at Lampman Funeral Home724 Canboro Rd. Fenwick from 10-12 on Friday May 3, 2024 followed by a service at 12:30.
Inurnment will take place at Hillside Cemetery, Ridgeville.
The family would like to thank his friends and family for all the support over the years and to the doctors and nurses who made his final moments comfortable, especially Dr Matthews and Dr Maddison. Donations in Kors’ memory may be made to ALS Society of Canada or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

BRUCE ALLEN COLLARD

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce Allen Collard on April 23, 2024 at the age of 71 after a battle with cancer. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Leanna Collard. He will be missed by his siblings Janet (Sam) Wells, Marilyn Collard, Donald Collard, Keith Collard, Ethel (Vince) Drouin, Carol Nero, Brenda (Doug) Carter and Tim Collard. He is also survived by his numerous extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Oscar and Florence Collard, his grandson Tyler Collard, ex wife Val Collard (nee Dilts), his brother Ronald Collard, his sister in law Frances Collard and brother in law Carlo Nero. A special thank you to great friends Jackie Daboll and Kevin Banford for their support and care in making Bruce’s final days content. In keeping with Bruce’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.

MARY GILBERT

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Gilbert on Monday, April 22, 2024 at the age of 80. She is now reunited with Ted Frail (2007). Loving Mom of Rachel (Ken) Leslie and Danny (Michelle) Gilbert. Cherished Nanny to Dustin, Adam, Kristen, Bryan, Shannon, Kyle and Lexi. Special Great Grandma to Emma, Arlo, Michael, Mason, Aubrey, Harlie and Colton. She is survived by her sister in law Mariah Kingsbury. Predeceased by her parents Hormidas and Aldea Kingsbury, her brother Rene Kingsbury, her sister Jeannine Tardif, brother in law Rejean Tardif and son Dennis Gilbert.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on May 12, 2024 at the Port Colborne Legion 1:00pm-4:00pm. Peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Welland Hospital. Beloved

husband of Sharon (nee Goss) for 30 years. Loving father of Stuart

Connelly (Karen), Christine (Mike) Lemenchick. Stepfather of Janet (Briant)

Dilts, Judy (Lennie) Aarts, Jack (Donna) Goss, and Terry (Shannon) Goss.

Proud grandfather of Nick, Olivia, Adam, Morgan and step-grandchildren,

Christopher, Jessica, Jillian, Sherrie, Jonathan, Melissa, Tyler, Saraya,

Ryan and Amy and many great-grandchildren. He was a loving and

devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved his

FAITH. As a young man Stu was an avid sheep farmer who sat on the

Ontario Sheep Board. He also was an employee at General Motors for 30

years before retiring. Visitation will take place at Wainfleet BIC Church,

53007 Perry Rd., Wainfleet on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 10 to 11 a.m.

with a service at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers,

SAMUEL ROBERT FLINTOFT

May 8, 1960-March 9, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Samuel Robert Flintoft on Saturday, March 9th, 2024 at the age of 63 after a battle with cancer. Loving and dearly missed husband of 45 years to Denise. Devoted father to Shane (Karen) Flintoft, Robert (Amanda) Flintoft, Tyson (Bianca) Flintoft, Danielle (Jeffry) Bertoni, GeorgeAnn Flintoft, Cory (Chelsea) Flintoft. Beloved grandfather of Devin, Russell, George, Victor, Gavin, Genevieve, Ava, Maya, Brandon, Myra, Fox, Axe, Jacob and David. Also survived by his sisters Carol Birse and Mary (Laurie) Groff and his brothers Hugh Flintoft and Allan (Cindy) Flintoft. He will be missed by his mother in law Margaret Johnson (Agnes Epp), his brothers and sisters in law David (Susan) Johnson, Stephen (Catheryn) Johnson, Mark Johnson and Kathleen Johnson as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents George and Rachel Flintoft, his brother George Flintoft, his brother in law Douglas Birse, sister in law Joyce Flintoft and father in law William Ivan Johnson.

Sam grew up in North Pelham, but also lived in Welland, and Dain City before finally settling in Wainfleet. Sam was a jack of all trades. You could find him always working at something, usually a vehicle and he was forever helping others. Sam also loved spending his time camping. He worked at Ken’s Salvage for a few years before starting at General Motors where he retired after 30 years of service. Sam will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.

The family would also like to recognize and sincerely thank the entire team of Dr’s and Nurses at the Walker Center and the 3B oncology unit at St, Catharines General Hospital. Sam was especially grateful to Nurse Binni for his devoted care and compassion.

All will be welcomed to visit Sam’s family on Friday March 15, 2024 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Lampman Funeral Home, 724 Canboro Rd, Fenwick. A service will take place at the Meridian Center Pelham Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11am, 100 Meridian Way Fonthill (Pelham Arena) followed by an interment at North Pelham Cemetery. Donations made in Sam’s name to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lampman Funeral Home.

GARY LEONARD KNAPMAN

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Leonard Knapman on March 4, 2024 in his 80th year. Loving dad of Denise (Jeff) Superka and Calvin Knapman. Cherished “Grandpa Poppy” of Nadine (Mike) Quinlan, Carley Superka and great grandpa to Scarlett Quinlan. Gary is survived by his sisters Anita (Don), Lorraine (Gord) and his brother Garnet (Gwen). He will be missed by his cousins, nieces and nephews as well as his many friends. He is predeceased by his grandson Tanner Superka, his brother Harvey Knapman and his parents Ralph and Iris Knapman.

Music and cars were Gary’s two greatest loves.

All will be welcomed to visit Gary’s family on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Lampman Funeral Home, 724 Canboro Rd, Fenwick. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 10am in the funeral home’s chapel with interment to follow at Fonthill Cemetery.
