With heavy hearts, the family of Kors Pater announce his peaceful passing at Niagara Health-St. Catharines Site on April 26, 2024 at the age of 76 with family by his side from complications of ALS. He came to Canada as a young boy, with his parents and siblings, landing at Pier 21 In Nova Scotia. The family eventually made their way to St. Catharines-making it home.
He started his working career at Dominion Food Stores as a grocery clerk and worked for many years for. A&P/Metro as a produce /grocery clerk and eventually became an assistant store manager. He made several friends throughout those years and continued to keep in touch with many of them over the years.
Kors enjoyed Southern Gospel and country music especially The Statler Brothers and The Gaithers. He enjoyed fishing, gardening , tending to his yard and his fur babies (Tippy, Amber, Nicki and Chelsea). He was an avid hockey and baseball fan especially the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays. Kors and Anne attended Bethel Baptist and Calvary Church for many years. His faith sustained him throughout the years and in one of his final moments told the nursing staff “I have an appointment with the man upstairs”. He had a quick wit and a quirky sense of humour.

My condolences to all the family ,worked with Kors for many years ,deeply saddened to hear of his passing . R.I.P.
I had no idea Kors had passed away. I just found out. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Anne. May God continue to comfort you.
I must also confess that I didn’t know Kors passed away. I just found this as I was searching for another. Kors was my grocery manager when I worked at the A&P on Lakeshore Road. He was always kind and respectful to all of his staff, this was especially true of the young staff he had. He had our backs when customers were rude to us and we knew we could always count on a chuckle or two when he worked. I have lots of great memories of that job and he was certainly one of the reasons. I am very glad to have had him as a supervisor because it gave me a lesson in how to treat people who worked with you and customers with respect and professionalism. My deepest condolences to his family, may you find comfort knowing we all thought he was a wonderful person and please know that even almost 40 years since I left A&P I still remember what a nice man he was.
