Harold Arthur Hodgkins

HODGKINS, Harold Arthur at home in Wainfleet on Saturday January 27, 2018. Born December 2, 1921 in Wainfleet. Predeceased in 2017 by his wife of 73 years, Muriel (Doan)Hodgkins. Survived by daughters Linda Badcock (Len), Tricia Reid (Gerry), Janet Hodgkins (David Fowler), Wendy Hodgkins (Peter Blackmore), Karen Durfy (Bill). Also survived by eight grandchildren: Ellen Badcock, Christopher Badcock, Sara Walters, Brooke Reid, Timothy Fowler, Paul Fowler, Meredith Durfy and Gillian Durfy, and by two great-grandchildren: Finlay Badcock and Daisy Walters.

Harold was a well-respected elementary school teacher in Wainfleet, Pelham, and Welland. The school bell rang for him for the last time when he retired as principal of Bridge View Public School in Welland Junction in 1977.

He was a skilled carpenter and cabinet maker and upon retiring from teaching he began a second career as the Piano Man, refurbishing and refinishing pianos, player pianos being his specialty. Dozens of his pianos now exist in homes across the Niagara region and beyond.

Harold is resting at the Lampman Funeral Home 724 Canborough Road, Fenwick for the funeral service in the Lampman chapel on Thursday, February 1 at 11 a.m. Interment at Hillside Cemetery in Ridgeville to follow. Visitation on Wednesday January 31 from 2–4 and 7–9 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Niagara Community Foundation Wainfleet Fund or the Alzheimer Society of Canada if desired.

James St.Pierre

Passed away at Hamilton General Hospital on Monday January 8, 2018 in his 67th year. Dear husband to Allison. Loving father of Jodi St.Pierre (Sylvia), Jamie, Tanya St.George, Robbie (Michelle), Lindsay Dockrill (Tony), Darren St.Pierre and Jeremy St.Pierre. Loving Grandfather to Kyra, Destiny, Chloe, Alessandra, Alexis, Summer,Blair, Aiden and Liam. James is survived by his sisters Darlene and Judy. Loving foster dad to many youth over the years, Funeral service will be held at Pelham Community Church 461 Canboro Road, Ridgeville on Friday January 12th at 1:00 P.M. Interment at Hillside Cemetery to follow. Visitation will be at the church 2 hours prior to service from 11:00 to 1:00. At his late residence in Welland on Tuesday January 9, 2018 in his 85th year. Dear father of Stephanie. Mike is survived by his brother Sam (Margaret) and sister Pat Vaillancourt. He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Mike was a life long farmer enjoying his passion at Hollo Maple Farms. Predeceased by his loving wife Barbara (2016). Passed away peacefully at Woodlands at Sunset on MondayJanuary 8, 2018 in his 93rd year. Harold journeyed from his earthly bonds to join his heavenly friends and family. Harold was a proud veteran that enjoyed being arounf all his family and friends. The family would like to express a special thankyou to all the amazing, caring and respectful staff at Woodlands. Of Welland suddenly passed away on Thursday December 28th 2017 in his 31st year. He will be greatly missed by his mother Debbie, father Rob his brother Chris and by the countless others that his heart touched. The smiles created from his laughter and the fabulous meals he provided for so many will never be forgotten. Alex Augustyn, at the age of 83 peacefully passed away at the Niagara Falls General Hospital on Friday December 15, 2017. Beloved father of Michael Augustyn.
