JOHN (JAN) VAN HELL

John (Jan) Van Hell November 16, 1931 – April 19, 2020

It is with great sadness, but also with rejoicing that we announce the passing of John (Jan) Van Hell, at the age of 88 years, who went to be with the Lord his Saviour into Glory on Sunday, April 19, 2020.  Peacefully with his family near, he passed away at the Welland Hospital.

Beloved husband of Janny Van Hell (Huizing) for over 63 years.  Dear father of Rosa (Harry) Vander Kuylen, Ron, Bruce, Jane Grass, Tim (Debbee), and Sharon (Brad) Meinen.

Much loved grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

 

Predeceased by his daughter Alice (1993), his grandson Jabin Meinen (2008) and daughter in law Pat (2019).

He is also survived by his favourite sister Jean Vogelaar and sister in law Gerrie Van Hell.

Predeceased by his parents Ruth and Alberta (Kraaij) Van Hell, brothers, brother in law and sisters in law, Wouter, Steve & Diny, Tony, Art Vogelaar and Roger & Eva.

Also remembered by Janny’s siblings: Nely Huizing, Grace Vander Wekken, Mina Slomp, Bert Huizing, Rose Kuizenga, Ann Van Dorp, Frank & Maria Huizing and Dienie & Arie Schalk.

Dad’s sense of humour and loving teasing will be missed by all. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date where we will be able to share our fond memories of him.

Donations made to the Bible League or the Back to God Hour would be appreciated by the family.

Private family burial will take place at the Riverside Cemetery on April 22, 2020 in Wellandport, ON.

PATRICIA SHAVE

Shave, Patricia

It is with deep sadness that the family of Patricia announce her passing on Saturday, March 14th, 2020 at the age of 63.  Beloved mother to Carrie (Josh Small) and special grandma to Wesley.  Loving sister to her brothers Tim (Marilyn) Gower and Bruce (Betty) Gower.  She will be fondly remembered by her nephews Mike Gower, Shawn Gower and Kent Gower as well as her niece Morgan Moyer. Predeceased by her parents Lloyd and Doris Gower.  Patricia will be sadly missed by her friends and her church family. She was an inspiration, always smiling and never lost that fantastic sense of humour of hers.  She will stay with us through our memories and we rejoice in knowing she is now at peace and walking with the Lord, her Saviour.

According with Patricia’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Donations made to the Open Arms Mission would be appreciated by the family.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME. 

GARNET McGLASHAN

McGLASHAN, Garnet

With broken hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Garnet James McGlashan on February 26th, 2020 in his 65th year. Loving husband of Inez for 39 years this June. Adored Dad to Jennifer (Tim), Jeanette (Matt) and James.  Much loved Papa to Brynn, Sam, Luke and Joe. Brother to Gwen, Gordon and Arthur. He was predeceased by his parents Ronald and Alice. Garnet was a well-respected man and a big kid at heart.  He loved spending time with his family and friends; his favourite times were going for walks in the bush and playing with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him.  A Celebration of Garnet’s Life will take place on Saturday, March 14th, 2020 at 11am at the First Presbyterian Church, North Pelham, 602 Metler Road, Fenwick. Memorial donations made to the church in Garnet’s name would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME.

 

HARVEY CARPENTER

CARPENTER, Harvey
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harvey on Tuesday, February 25th, 2020 at the age of 86. Loving husband of the Late Diane Carpenter. Predeceased by his children Lennard and Laurie. Cherished father of Cheryl (Joe) Rienzo and beloved father-in-law of Susan Carpenter. Adored grandpa of Melissa (Mike) Haist and special great-grandpa to Landon Haist. Harvey is survived by his brother Doug (Loretta) and his sister Joan (Leen) Zonneveld.

In keeping with Harvey’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be welcomed at LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Rd, Fenwick on Saturday February 29th, 2020 from 9:30am-10:30am. A Memorial Service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 10:30am. Memorial donations made to The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters would be appreciated by the family.

ORLIN COLLARD

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Orlin on Monday February 17, 2020 at the age of 83.  Loving husband of 62 years to June. Beloved dad of Jerry (Cindy), Inez (Garnet) McGlashen, Cathy, Judy (David) Lilley and Tammy Cross (Sam).

Orlin loved his family and his animals and you could always find him tinkering with old cars in his garage or tending to his gardens.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Memorial Service will take place on Friday February 21, 2020 at 11am at LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick.  Memorial donations made to Lupus Ontario would be appreciated by the family.

 

SHIRLEY MCINNIS

McINNIS, Shirley

Shirley passed away peacefully on January 30, 2020 at the age of 86. Loving wife of the Late Ralph McInnis. Beloved mom of Rennie (Donna) MacPherson, Donald MacPherson, Liz McCully and Kevin (Lesia) MacPherson. Cherished grandma of Stacy, Leanne, Chad, and Adam (Kaitlin). Shirley was the proud great-grandmother of 5 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her son Mickey and her daughter Linda. She will be missed by her special furry friend Daffy.

In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Donations made to the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME.

ROBERT JAMES REEVES

REEVES, Robert James

July 31, 1935 – January 29, 2020

After a long and valiant battle with Dementia, our beloved Bob found peace on Wednesday January 29, 2020, surrounded in love at the Woolcott Wing of the Welland Hospital.  He was the devoted husband to Shirley for almost 65 years, (sainthood awaits), cherished and loving dad to Deb Mikolasek and Terry. Proud grandfather to Greg Stanley and Kristina and Erin Nery and Ryan.  Bob was also blessed with 3 great grandchildren, Kapri Angela, Tia Marie and Lincoln Robert. Bob is survived by his sister in law Sharon Wright and several nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed as he touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Bob retired as Post Master after working for over 30 years for Canada Post.  The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the health care team at the Woolcott Wing. We can’t express our gratitude enough for the care extended to Bob from each and every one of you.

Respecting his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at the Lampman Funeral Home, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick on Monday, February 3rd at 10:00am. Interment of ashes at Fonthill Cemetery to follow. Donations to the Niagara Health Foundation-Woolcott Wing at the Welland Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

JOYCE BRUCE

Bruce Joyce (nee Althouse)

Passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at Welland Hospital on Tuesday January 14, 2020 in her 87th year, Joyce will be sadly missed by her sister Margaret Moores and sister in law June Bruce .Also by many nieces and nephews.  A private family service will be held at a later date.
