WILLIAM “BILL” SHELDON

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William “Bill” Sheldon on July 28, 2020. Bill passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 32 years, Sandi, as well as his children Rhyan (Terry), Jason (Shawna), Morgan, Harris, and his brother James. He was cherished by his grandchildren Kennedy, Paige, Terry, Allette, Heather, and James. Bill is predeceased by his parents JB Sheldon and Anne Sheldon (Albinson). Bill loved life and enjoyed parachuting, flying, sailing, and spending his weekends as a rowing umpire across Canada. He was an avid volunteer with the town of Pelham in the committee of adjustment, and takes pride in the successful “Summerfest” events he assisted with over the years. Passed away at Grandview Lodge in Dunnville on Monday July 27, 2020 in her 86th year. Loving mother of Richard, Gary, Terry and Lisa Robins (Mark). Dear Grandmother to nine and Great Grandmother to ten. Leta is survived by her sisters Arleen, Marie, Kathleen and Bernice and brothers Alvin, Donald and Clarence. Predeceased by her husband Clarence, daughter Janet and brothers Frank Jr. and Jerry and sisters Lucille and Helen. Interment will take place at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Wainfleet on Wednesday July 29th at 11:30 A.M. The family would like to express a special thankyou to the staff at Grandview Lodge for their care and compassion towards mom. Passed away at Greater Niagara General Hospital on Saturday July 25, 2020 in his 94th year. Loving father of Bill (Lynda), and Robert (Cheryl). Dear Grandfather to Chuck, Daniel, Adam, Warren, Cody and Kyle. Great Grandfather to Savana, Dalton and Tristen. Arnold is survived by his sister Marjorie Waite. Predeceased by his son David and his five brothers. Interment will take place at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Wainfleet on Tuesday July 28th at 11:00 A.M. SIMONE SOUTER

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Simone Souter on Friday, July 3rd, 2020 in her 105th year. She is now reunited with her beloved husband Raymond after many years apart.  Loving mother of Denny (Kathleen), Andy (Yogi), Elizabeth (the late Gary), Jimmy (Brenda), Elaine (David) Byng, Louanne (Tom) Fritshaw, Christine (Willy) Gerada and Annette (Malcolm) Oliver. Simone was blessed to have many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her. Simone is predeceased by her son Harvey and daughters Margaret and Dorothy.  Due to current restrictions set in place by our Government, there will be a restricted visitation at Lampman Funeral Home, 274 Canboro Rd, Fenwick, on Wednesday, July 8th, 2020 from 1pm-4pm and 6pm-9pm. For those who would like to attend, you must call the funeral home between 9am and 4pm (905) 892-4701 to book a time slot. Only those with reserved slots will be allowed entrance into the premises. There will be a private Funeral Mass at St. Ann’s Catholic Church followed by a family committal service at Maple Lawn Cemetery.  BY MANDATE OF THE BEREAVEMENT AUTHORITY OF ONTARIO,  ALL IN ATTENDANCE MUST WEAR A FACE MASK AND MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING. Donations made to your local Humane Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.

GEORGE ALBERT HOOVER

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of George Albert Hoover in his 96th year.  He is now reunited with his wife Helen. Loving father of Ann (Gord) Dalley and Karl (Sandra) Hoover. Chersihed grandpa of Daryl, Kristin and Michelle. Beloved great-grandpa of Rachel, Nolan and Eli.  A private graveside service will take place at Pleasantview Cemetery.  Memorial donations made to either The Arthritis Society or The Canadian Hearing Society would be appreciated by the family. Dear Grandfather to Christine, Mark and Erin. Great Grampy to Olivia, Luke, Evan, Liam, Kate and Xavier. Survived by his brother Ken. Predeceased by his brothers Howard, Alfred and Lyle. ALBERT JAN KIERS

August 15, 1937-May 28, 2020

God in His infinite wisdom has called His child, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Albert Jan Kiers home on May 28, peacefully at home.

Albert leaves behind his wife of 56 years Freda Kiers (nee DeVries). He will be sadly missed by his son Tony (Anita) Kiers and Chantal, Danielle and Jayden; his daughter Wendy (Brian) Kremer and Brittany (Ralph) Terpstra, Kristyn, Dean, Rachel, Patrick (Shelby), Deacon, Landon, Emmett, Tamara (Dave) DeBoer, Mackenzie and Riley; his son Jerry (Jeniffer) Kiers and Sierra, Cassidy and Cadence; his daughter Marita (Jim) Wagner and Morgan, Adam, Brent and Maya; his daughter Laura Kiers and Bryce, Sage and Drestin Terhaar.  Albert was predeceased by his son Michael (1966) and grandson Tyler (1993).

Psalm 116:15-Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.

Due to the Covid-19 situation, there will be a private family visitation arranged as per current restrictions at Lampman Funeral Home, 724 Canboro Rd, Fenwick, Ontario. You are invited to witness the Funeral Service for Albert Kiers via Livestream on Monday, June 1st, 2020 at 1:30pm. For access to the service please visit the Wellandport United Reformed Church website. A private rite of committal will take place at Pleasantview Cemetery following the service.

TINA HUIZINGA (Fledderus)

August 12th, 1945 – May 22nd, 2020

The Lord in his infinite wisdom called his child, our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend Tina Huizinga, home. Her journey is done. She fought the good fight and is with Jesus now. 

Revelation 21:4 NKJ version:  “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Tina was predeceased by her husband Gary in 2004.  She will be sadly missed by her family Mike Huizinga,  Annette (Ron) Nieuwold and their children Chelcy, Calvin, Kristen (Aaron) Wassenaar, Ryan and Stacy, Anita (Con) Bartels and their children Tim, Chris (Laura), Kerri (Jesse) Horinga and their daughter Emerson and Jason, Mary (Ted) VanderMeer and their children Steve (Sarah), Heather (Mark) Snippe and their children Trenton, Shane, Baby # 3, Nick and Eric and John (Annette) Huizinga and their children Owen and Xander.

Tina herself had 5 brothers and 3 sisters, and Gary, 2 brothers and 3 sisters, some of which predeceased her, that will also miss her dearly.

Memorial Service and Interment will take place on Tuesday May 26th, 2020 at 11:00am with immediate family only present at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Wainfleet.
