Passed away at Welland Hospital on Thursday April 5, 2018. Grace Spyker of Welland in her 89th year. Loving mother of Ann, Peter (Gilda), Jack (Dorothy) and Clarence (Dee). Dear Grandmother to nine and Great Grandmother to nine. Grace is survived by numerous brothers and sisters. Predeceased by her husband Jack and grandson Jacobus. Resting at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME 724 Canboro Road Fenwick for funeral service in the Lampman Chapel on Monday April 9th at 11:00 A.M. Interment to follow at Vineland Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday April 8th from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.

Passed away at Welland Hospital on Thursday March 29, 2018 at the age of 89. Loving father of Marylou Smith (Bob), Larry, Gary (Lisa), Rick and Lori Roepke (John). Dear Grandfather to eight and Great Grandfather to five. Harold is survived by his brother Bill and sisters Verla Cosby and Marion Martin (Ken). Predeceased by his wife Reta (1994) and son Billy (1987). Resting at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick for funeral service in the Lampman Chapel on Wednesday April 4th at 11:00 A.M. Interment at Hillside Cemetery in Ridgeville to follow. Visitation will take place one hour prior to service.In lieu of flowers donations to The Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

On Wednesday March 21, 2018 at the age of 95, the Lord in His infinite wisdom called unto Himself our Mother and Beppe. Predeceased by her husband Jelle (1998). Loving mother of Raymond & Jenny (Lonny 2007) DeVries, Epp & Diana DeVries, Ann & Bill VanLochem, (Jessie 2015) & Ben Bruining, Vicky & Jim Stienstra, Harry &Nancy Devries, Leo & Margaret DeVries, John & Joanne DeVries, and Dear Beppe to 29 Grandchildren (Jeffrey Bruining 1997), and 76 Great grandchildren. Visitation will be at Mountainview Christian Reformed Church, 290 Main St E, Grimsby on Sunday, March 25. Friends and family may visit from 2-4 and 7-9. Celebration of Mom’s life will be on Monday, March 26 at 11am. at Mountainview Christian Reformed Church.  Private interment in the morning. Special thanks to Shalom Manor for the care they gave Mom over the past years. Donations to Shalom Manor would be appreciated by the family.

Haist Cecil David passed away peacefully at home Tuesday February 27, 2018 in his 93rd year. Loving father of Charine Brown (and her late husband Walter), Randall Haist (Cindy), Ronald Haist, Janice Zwier (Martin), and Carol Molnar. Loving Grandfather to Nathan (Cara), Melissa, Zachary (Lori), Ashley, Amanda, Kirstin (Tyler), Emily, Dylan, and Kyle. Great Grandfather to Ivy, Ava, Aiden, Luke, Lily, Nevaeh, Mason, Nora and Holden. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday March 10th at Pelham Centre Community Church, 461 Canboro Road, Fenwick. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Interment will follow the Memorial service at Hillside Cemetery in Ridgeville where dad will finally rest beside his late wife Rita Mae Haist. Bossert Donald James – It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Donald Bossert of Fenwick, Ontario on February 25, 2018 at Hamilton General Hospital in his 85th year. With his loving wife of 64 years, Jean (Sider) Bossert at his side, Don went to be with the Lord. Don was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. He is lovingly remembered by his children Kathleen (Gordon) Lane, Barbara (Norman) Olsen, and Jeffrey (Brenda) Bossert. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Jennifer (Joshua) Bendlis, Amanda (Daniel) St. John, Monica (Jason) Wilson, Katelyn (Dylan) Colbert, Kevin (Tyla) Olsen, Thomas and Andrew Bossert, Ashley and Alex Goertzen along with 8 great grandchildren. Don is survived by his sisters Mary McNiven and Eileen (Howard) Traver and in laws Della Bossert, Marjorie (Ronald) Lofthouse, Mary (Carlton) Sider, Edith Sider Schell, Mary Jean and Shirley Sider. He will also be fondly remembered by his many friends and church family at Boyle B.I.C. Church. He was a retiree of Stelco, Welland where he worked for over 25 years, Visitation will be held on Sunday March 4th at Boyle B.I.C. Church from 2-5 P.M. Funeral service will be held on Monday March 5th at the church at 2:00 P.M. Donations to the Boyle B.I.C. Church would be appreciated by the family. Passed away at Port Colborne Hospital on Sunday November 19, 2017 in her 81st year. Loving mother to Lori Eden (Ed). Dear Grandmother to Chris Eden and Brooke Eden. Survived by her brother in law Irv Muir. Predeceased by her husband Bert, son Randy and sister Carol Muir. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday February 9, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick. Inurnment at a later date.

Harold Arthur Hodgkins

HODGKINS, Harold Arthur at home in Wainfleet on Saturday January 27, 2018. Born December 2, 1921 in Wainfleet. Predeceased in 2017 by his wife of 73 years, Muriel (Doan)Hodgkins. Survived by daughters Linda Badcock (Len), Tricia Reid (Gerry), Janet Hodgkins (David Fowler), Wendy Hodgkins (Peter Blackmore), Karen Durfy (Bill). Also survived by eight grandchildren: Ellen Badcock, Christopher Badcock, Sara Walters, Brooke Reid, Timothy Fowler, Paul Fowler, Meredith Durfy and Gillian Durfy, and by two great-grandchildren: Finlay Badcock and Daisy Walters.

Harold was a well-respected elementary school teacher in Wainfleet, Pelham, and Welland. The school bell rang for him for the last time when he retired as principal of Bridge View Public School in Welland Junction in 1977.

He was a skilled carpenter and cabinet maker and upon retiring from teaching he began a second career as the Piano Man, refurbishing and refinishing pianos, player pianos being his specialty. Dozens of his pianos now exist in homes across the Niagara region and beyond.

Harold is resting at the Lampman Funeral Home 724 Canborough Road, Fenwick for the funeral service in the Lampman chapel on Thursday, February 1 at 11 a.m. Interment at Hillside Cemetery in Ridgeville to follow. Visitation on Wednesday January 31 from 2–4 and 7–9 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Niagara Community Foundation Wainfleet Fund or the Alzheimer Society of Canada if desired.
