MARY GILBERT

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Gilbert on Monday, April 22, 2024 at the age of 80. She is now reunited with Ted Frail (2007). Loving Mom of Rachel (Ken) Leslie and Danny (Michelle) Gilbert. Cherished Nanny to Dustin, Adam, Kristen, Bryan, Shannon, Kyle and Lexi. Special Great Grandma to Emma, Arlo, Michael, Mason, Aubrey, Harlie and Colton. She is survived by her sister in law Mariah Kingsbury. Predeceased by her parents Hormidas and Aldea Kingsbury, her brother Rene Kingsbury, her sister Jeannine Tardif, brother in law Rejean Tardif and son Dennis Gilbert.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on May 12, 2024 at the Port Colborne Legion 1:00pm-4:00pm. HICKS, Russell Stuart “Stu” July 5 th , 1932 – April 6 th , 2024

 

Peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Welland Hospital. Beloved

husband of Sharon (nee Goss) for 30 years. Loving father of Stuart

Connelly (Karen), Christine (Mike) Lemenchick. Stepfather of Janet (Briant)

Dilts, Judy (Lennie) Aarts, Jack (Donna) Goss, and Terry (Shannon) Goss.

Proud grandfather of Nick, Olivia, Adam, Morgan and step-grandchildren,

Christopher, Jessica, Jillian, Sherrie, Jonathan, Melissa, Tyler, Saraya,

Ryan and Amy and many great-grandchildren. He was a loving and

devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved his

FAITH. As a young man Stu was an avid sheep farmer who sat on the

Ontario Sheep Board. He also was an employee at General Motors for 30

years before retiring. Visitation will take place at Wainfleet BIC Church,

53007 Perry Rd., Wainfleet on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 10 to 11 a.m.

with a service at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers,

SAMUEL ROBERT FLINTOFT

May 8, 1960-March 9, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Samuel Robert Flintoft on Saturday, March 9th, 2024 at the age of 63 after a battle with cancer. Loving and dearly missed husband of 45 years to Denise. Devoted father to Shane (Karen) Flintoft, Robert (Amanda) Flintoft, Tyson (Bianca) Flintoft, Danielle (Jeffry) Bertoni, GeorgeAnn Flintoft, Cory (Chelsea) Flintoft. Beloved grandfather of Devin, Russell, George, Victor, Gavin, Genevieve, Ava, Maya, Brandon, Myra, Fox, Axe, Jacob and David. Also survived by his sisters Carol Birse and Mary (Laurie) Groff and his brothers Hugh Flintoft and Allan (Cindy) Flintoft. He will be missed by his mother in law Margaret Johnson (Agnes Epp), his brothers and sisters in law David (Susan) Johnson, Stephen (Catheryn) Johnson, Mark Johnson and Kathleen Johnson as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents George and Rachel Flintoft, his brother George Flintoft, his brother in law Douglas Birse, sister in law Joyce Flintoft and father in law William Ivan Johnson.

Sam grew up in North Pelham, but also lived in Welland, and Dain City before finally settling in Wainfleet. Sam was a jack of all trades. You could find him always working at something, usually a vehicle and he was forever helping others. Sam also loved spending his time camping. He worked at Ken’s Salvage for a few years before starting at General Motors where he retired after 30 years of service. Sam will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.

The family would also like to recognize and sincerely thank the entire team of Dr’s and Nurses at the Walker Center and the 3B oncology unit at St, Catharines General Hospital. Sam was especially grateful to Nurse Binni for his devoted care and compassion.

All will be welcomed to visit Sam’s family on Friday March 15, 2024 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Lampman Funeral Home, 724 Canboro Rd, Fenwick. A service will take place at the Meridian Center Pelham Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11am, 100 Meridian Way Fonthill (Pelham Arena) followed by an interment at North Pelham Cemetery. GARY LEONARD KNAPMAN

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Leonard Knapman on March 4, 2024 in his 80th year. Loving dad of Denise (Jeff) Superka and Calvin Knapman. Cherished “Grandpa Poppy” of Nadine (Mike) Quinlan, Carley Superka and great grandpa to Scarlett Quinlan. Gary is survived by his sisters Anita (Don), Lorraine (Gord) and his brother Garnet (Gwen). He will be missed by his cousins, nieces and nephews as well as his many friends. He is predeceased by his grandson Tanner Superka, his brother Harvey Knapman and his parents Ralph and Iris Knapman.

Music and cars were Gary’s two greatest loves.

All will be welcomed to visit Gary’s family on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Lampman Funeral Home, 724 Canboro Rd, Fenwick. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 10am in the funeral home’s chapel with interment to follow at Fonthill Cemetery.

RICHARD CLARENCE DILTS

September 28, 1952-February 23, 2024

It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of Richard Clarence Dilts in his 72nd year. Richard went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 23rd, 2024, surrounded by his family in his daughter’s home in Lucan, Ontario after a short, but brave battle with cancer.

He will be deeply missed by his loving partner, Aileen McPhee; his daughters Sarah Tutti (Troy), Diana Kun (David), Joanna Bukata (Mitch), and son Jonathan. Grandfather to Seth, Travis, Kristen, Scarlett, and Rosie. Loving brother to Gary, Terry, and Lisa. Uncle to Zach, Brittany (Finlay), Tyler, Kayli and Lacey. Richard was married to Tracey (Lampman) and raised their four children for 36 years. Predeceased by his parents Clarence Dilts and Leta Dilts (Sider), and sister Janet Lucille.

Richard had a heart for people and his community his entire life serving on various boards across Ontario. He was an active member of the Brethren-In-Christ Church for much of his life, and loved the Lord. He was honoured by the Canadian Blood Services for donating his blood over 200 times. Richard served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1972-1974 and held his pilot license at the age of 19. Richard was an avid genealogist and historian for over 45 years. He worked in various manufacturing industries including Welmet, Stelco (Stelpipe), Union Carbide (UCAR), Atlas Steel and others. With the closure of various industries, Rick became a PSW for 11 years working at Maple Park Lodge in Fort Erie where he retired in 2020.

Rick attended West Park Church in London and was grateful for the generous men who prayed and supported him through his illness. A special thank you to the great care by Dr. Chris Watling from the London Regional Cancer Program, Dr. Yu Li,  PSW’s from the London-Middlesex VON (Mary, Barb, Anu and others), and for the dedicated care throughout his cancer journey from Nader, RN at SE Health. Words cannot express the sincere gratitude and honour it was to share dads last days of his life with (Sarah and her family) Lisa Dilts, and Aileen. The singing, praying, and reminiscing throughout the days and nights were special and will never be forgotten as we cared for dad together.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lampman Funeral Home in Fenwick. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 28th from 2-4, 6-8 pm, and Thursday, 9 am – 9:45. Service will be held at 10 am at the Wainfleet BIC Church, interment to follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Wainfleet. Memorial donations can be made to West Park Church in London (westparkchurch.ca) or the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum (warplane.com).

STEVE KUCHYT

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steve Kuchyt on February 22, 2024, at the age of 67.

Cherished brother of John (Ann), Tom (Odette), Kathy (Ron) Tufford. Cherished uncle of Shannon (Steve), Chris, Chet (Tammy), Sarah (Natale), Tyler and Melissa (Kodey). He will be missed by his great nieces and nephews Parker, Tristen, Rilynne, Kolson and Milana. Steve was predeceased by his parents Chester and Regina Kuchyt, his brother Bob Kuchyt and his niece Chelsea Kuchyt.

Steve was a great supporter of Ducks Unlimited and the MS Society. He was always happy when the Kansas City Chiefs won a football game and he was an avid fisherman.

The family would like to thank the staff at Woodlands of Sunset for their very kind and compassionate care as well as the nurses in the ER Department and D Wing at the Greater Niagara General Hospital. You are all amazing!

TANNER JOHN SUPERKA

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Tanner John Superka on January 21, 2024 at the age of 20.

Loving son of Jeff and Denise Superka, and cherished brother of Carley Superka. Tanner will be missed by his grandparents Gary Knapman and Harriet and Brian Fluke. He will be lovingly remembered by his aunts and uncles Laurie and Marc Priestley, Brent and Suzanne Superka, Calvin Knapman, Lisa Fluke and Mark Brooks as well as his cousins Blake, Lee, Marc Jr., Melyssa, Nadine, Mya, and Gabe. Predeceased by his Nana and Papa John and Marion Superka. Tanner also leaves behind many of his beloved friends as well as his dog Molly.

Tanner was known for his strong work ethic, compassion, and loyalty. He inherited a passion for the North and loved spending time with his extended “cottage family”. Tanner was never one to speak poorly of anyone. He was someone who was always there to help his friends and family when they needed him.

Tanner was a dedicated employee of Anthony’s Excavating since high school. As a result of Tanner’s hard work he recently purchased a new truck which he was so proud of. Tanner had a need for speed, he enjoyed motocross, snowmobiling, and jet skiing with friends and family. Ultimately, Tanner passed away doing what he loved. He also enjoyed playing hockey throughout his life.

All will be welcomed to visit Tanner’s family on Friday February 2nd, 2024 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Bethany CRC, 1040 Balfour St Fenwick, ON L0S 1C0. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday February 3rd, 2024 at 11am at Bethany CRC. The service will be livestreamed by the church for those who are unable to come. In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation will follow. Memorial donations in Tanner’s name to Pelham Cares or to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Joan went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at the age of 83 years. She is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Gordon (2014) and their son Terry (2001). Joan is survived by her daughters Judie (the late Jerry) Sabourin and Deb (Humphrey) Geerlinks, daughter-in-law Bev (Terry) Yungblut and sister to Sharon (the late Willie) Eldridge and Dan (Jan) Beamer.
