DILTS, CHARLES – peacefully at his residence on Sunday May 14, 2017 in his 74th year. Beloved husband of Diane (nee Bousfield) for 52 years. Loving father of Christopher, Lee (Jodi) and Michael. Dearly loved grandfather of Dakota, Sarah (Austin), Elissa and Cassandra, and his great grandson Mason. He will be sadly missed by his brothers Willy and Robert and his sister Doreen. Predeceased by his siblings Don, Dorothy and Helen. Charles was retired from General Motors after 34 years of faithful service. HODGKINS, MURIEL AUDREY (Nee Doan) at the Welland Hospital on Wednesday May 10, 2017. Born August 31, 1921 in Port Colborne. Survived by her husband of 73 years, Harold Hodgkins, as well as daughters Linda Badcock (Len), Tricia Reid (Gerry), Janet Hodgkins (David Fowler), Wendy Hodgkins (Peter Blackmore), Karen Durfy (Bill). Also survived by eight grandchildren: Ellen Badcock, Christopher Badcock, Sara Walters, Brooke Reid, Timothy Fowler, Paul Fowler, Meredith Durfy and Gillian Durfy. Also survived by a sister, June Davis. Predeceased by her brother Stuart Doan. Muriel was a primary school teacher and an instructor at Niagara College. She was an active member of the O’Reilly’s Bridge Women’s Institute, and a member of the Wainfleet Historical Society. She was an avid gardener; her goal was to rival the Niagara Parks flower gardens. She was renowned for her baking, especially her pies. She was an excellent seamstress. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed doing daily crossword puzzles. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick on Wednesday May 17th at 11:00 A.M. Visiting Tuesday May 16th from 7-9 P.M. Memorial donations may be made to the Wainfleet Public Library or to the Wainfleet Historical Society if desired.

Also by sisters in law Irene MacGregor, Marion Mooradian, brother in law Robert Armstrong and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his first wife Martha Viola (nee Armstrong),parents Arthur James Sr. and Elizabeth McLean Robinson, sisters Rose and Beatrice Robinson , stepfather William Allen, one still born child in 1953, son Paul Douglas (1955), Uncle William and Aunt Mary Watson. VANDERZANDEN, HENDRIKUS (HARRY) MARINUS – on Monday April 3, 2017 Harry, being a lifelong farmer and racing enthusiast, took his final lap holding the checkered flag. He was in his 83rd year and leaves behind his loving and supportive wife of 22 years Nancy. He is survived by his sons Paul (Doreen), John (Darlene) and David (Debi) and his daughters Christine Gardener (Stefan) and Marcia Jones. Fiercely proud of his grandchildren Darryl, Elenna, Steven, Krystle, Michael, Nicolas, Monica, Taylor, Owen, Hayley, Carly, Talia, Trevor and Mackenzie. Feeling this loss as well are the extended family he found in Nancy’s children Lynn Hilberdink (Brian) and Greg Burnison (Susan) and their children Charlie, Russell, Wyatt and Nicholas who lost their Opa. He was also blessed to have great grandchildren Evan, Alexis, Colin and Adeline. His sister Freda Leenders (Joe) and brother John survive him along with many beloved nieces and nephews and friends, especially Bill and Betty Klunder and Ed Thompson. Waiting on the other side to greet him are his parents John and Johanna, his brothers Marinus (Meis) and Gerardus (Gerry), his sister Donna and his old friend John Boyko. Harry fought hard against the challenges of diabetes. Many thanks to all those who helped him in his medical journey from the caring support of Dr. Minkarious, Dr. Ali and all of the nurses of the dialysis and nephrology units of the St. Catharines General Hospital. Frans is survived by his sister Joke Schroten (Lukas) in Holland. The funeral service will take place on Thursday March 23rd at 11:30 A.M. at Spring Creek Canadian Reformed Church 3981 Spring Creek Road, Vineland. MOORE, AMBER LOUISE (BARDEN) – August 25, 1967 – March 10, 2017, passed away peacefully at home after a long courageous battle with cancer at the age of 49. Beloved wife of Brian for 23 years. Loving mother to Eric and Ashley. Amber is survived by her mother Sandy Jacobs, brother Jeff Barden, and her in laws Lawrence and Gail Moore, sister in law Janice, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her father Jim Barden, grandparents Ken and Gwen Barden and Murland and Jennie Foss. Amber was an employee for 12 years with the City of Thorold. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Dana Reece and nurses Jocelyn and Kim for the excellent care they gave to Amber. Also to the nurses at the St. Catharines General Hospital on the Oncology floor. Keeping with Amber’s wishes Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at Fenwick United Church on Saturday March 25th at 12:00 P.M. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Service from 11:00 – 12:00.Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Catharines General Hospital Oncology Department would be appreciated by the family.
