Phelps, Joyce RN (Kuiper)
Peacefully on September 21, 2014 after a courageous battle with Alzheimers disease, Joyce passed away at the Woodlands of Sunset. Loving wife of 54 years to Jim, beloved and devoted mother to Vicky (Steve), Gary (Jackie) and Jeff (Lisa). Joyce’s grandchildren were her pride and joy…. Missing her always and forever are Lucas, Avery, Jakob, Matt, Zoe, Nick, Carson, Isabella and Walker. Joyce is predeceased by her parents Leo and Besty Kuiper and sister Tina. Joyce was a graduate of the Mack School of Nursing (1959). She enjoyed traveling, gardening and bird watching. Joyce often shared her love of the opera and ballet with her grandchildren and friends. Most will miss her smile and laughter as she spent time with family and friends. Heartfelt gratitude to the staff of The Woodlands of Sunset and Dr.Ali for their loving care. In keeping with Joyce’s wishes cremation and a private family gathering has taken place. Donations in memory of Joyce to the Niagara Chapter of the Alzheimers Society would be appreciated by the family.
We send our deepest condolences, love and hugs, to Jim, Vicky, Gary, Jeff, and all the grandchildren at this sad time.
Joyce will be fondly remembered by us for her gentle nature and love for her family, nature, and classical music..
It’s the little things, the small, everyday occurrences that you’ll remember. The laughs, the stories, the smiles. and even though it seems like you can never recover from your loss, it is these very memories that will help push the pain away and bring back the smiles
Our deepest condolences to Jim and the Phelps family at this difficult time. May the warm memories of Joyce bring you comfort in the days ahead. A donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of Niagara has been made in Joyce’s memory.
Our condolences go out to all of Joyce’s family members. Fond memories of sitting with Joyce on Jeff and Lisa’s deck sipping a glass of wine, listening to the wildlife off in the distance, watching the fireflies twinkle in the trees, I will think of her often when the fireflies do their dance.
Your Condolence
