It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Orval Edward Storey on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at 87 years old after years of suffering with dementia. Orval was born in Owen Sound, Ont., Aug. 19, 1937 to parents Lilly May and Ron Storey. He is predeceased by his parents, an infant son, wife Dorothy, brothers Ivan (Ruth) and Bob, and sister Ann (Gerry) Gordon. Loving father to Lee and Bill Sherwood, grandpa to Scott (Erika) Sherwood, Rachel (Brandon) Sherwood, great grandpa to Connor and Paislee Shermetta.
Orval helped his father at the family service station in Owen Sound, Ont. Opportunity came for them to relocate to Chambers Corners in Wainfleet, Ont. to run a service station. They ran the service station together until his parents retired, and Orval and Dorothy took over running it. During his working years, he was also a member of the Wainfleet Lions Club. He had many young people from the community work for him over the years. After retirement in 2000, a lot of his time was dedicated to helping get the grounds ready for and setting up the Dean garage at Marshville Heritage Festival with some of his service station collectables. He loved to discuss all things regarding service stations with whoever came by.
Another one of his hobbies was going to antique shows and auctions. It was more of a social thing for him to do and anyone who knew Orval knows he loved to talk.
We would like to thank the staff at Northland Pointe for all the care and compassion you gave Orval. If you wish, a donation can be made to a charity/organization of your choosing. In following with Orval’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. Arrangements Entrusted to Lampman Funeral Home, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick, ON.
