The Lord has called home Alex on Saturday, January 16th, 2021 after a long illness at the age of 65. Survived by his loving wife Diane, his two children Bryan and Nicole and his granddaughter Kenzie. He will be greatly missed by his 3 fur babies Bessie, Maggie and Sophie. Alex will be forever remembered by his many friends and extended family. Predeceased by his parents Alexander and Eileen Gray.
Alex was very active in his hobbies: flying model airplanes, sailing model boats and driving small scale racing cars.
In keeping with Alex’s wishes, cremation has already taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lampman Funeral Home.

Love you Dad.
I love you Dad.
My heart is so sad hearing about Alex’s passing.
I meet Alex through a model club and was amazed at his knowledge and skill of build museum quality models. To many, the hobby seems frivolous and adolescent but to a fellow hobbyist his knowledge, skill, and enthusiasm was rare and appreciated by myself and others who grew to know Alex and were happy to share that enthusiasm with him.
I had the great honour of becoming a friend, and had hours and hours of learning, talking, debating in his shop over many topics but mostly I learned by listening to Alex and trying to take in a tiny bit of his vast and seemingly endless knowledge.
Over the years I found that our childhood was almost a mirror of each others from building models and family life to events that we had both attended over the years and probably had been within a few feet from each other.
I’m going to miss Alex. There will never be another Alex, not for me anyway.
My heart and thoughts go out to Diane and the fur babies who he loved so so much. Condolences to family and friends.
Those of us who knew Alex loved him, those who didn’t missed a good one, I’m sure glad I knew him.
I am sad to hear of Alex’s passing and wish to send my heartfelt condolences to Diane. May you find peace in all the memories you shared. He will be truly missed by Bryan, Nicole and Kensie.
I knew Alex from my time at Sobeys in Port Colborne. He was a formidable man, very kind and very funny. Him and his wife, Diane were 2 of my most favourite people who I was able to keep in touch with after I left the store. You will be missed terribly, Alex. My families deepest sympathies to you, Diane and your family. XOXO
